I wanted to provide you an update regarding Shoplifting, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On 19/06/2025 Adam Johns was issued a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) for 2 Years with strict conditions not to enter and Marks and Spencer's or Co-Op food retail unit within the M25.

Johns was also issued with the following conditions:

NOT TO:

1. ENTER ANY MARKS AND SPENCERS OR CO-OP FOOD RETAIL UNIT within the boundary of the M25.

2. ENTER BROMLEY TOWN WARD – unless attending pre – arranged appointments [of which proof of must be provided] at the following venues:

- BROMLEY JOB CENTRE located on ELMFIELD ROAD
- BROMLEY DRUG AND ALCOHOL SERVICE on FARWIG LANE
- BROMLEY HOUSING located in BROMLEY CIVIC CENTRE on WESTMORELAND ROAD
- COURT HEARINGS at BROMLEY MAGISTRATES/ COUNTY COURT

or passing through in a vehicle or on public transport.

3. ENTER BROMLEY COMMON AND HOLWOOD
- Unless passing through in a vehicle or on public transport.

4. Must provide proof of purchase for any goods in his possession if required to do so by a police officer in the Ward of Bromley Town

Bromley SNT led on he investigation but the strength of the CBO conditions relates to JOHNS not attending venues all over London.

Shoplifting is a crime that can have a substantial negative impact on local businesses across London. If you notice anything suspicious or witness anyone shoplifting, please report it as soon as possible. These reports are invaluable in letting us build a picture of when and where shop lifters operate, meaning we can be in the right place at the right time to arrest those responsible.
